Hotel Review: Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe

Our trip to the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino had its ups and downs but overall left us impressed.

Upon arriving, we were given a ground floor suite with a pool view. The upgrade wasn’t applied automatically on the Hyatt mobile app, though. You need to check-in at the front desk to receive an upgrade as a Globalist.

Pro tip: Check the availability of suites or better rooms before you check in. If there are any available, don't hesitate to ask for an upgrade if they don't offer one first. Our suite, though  dark due to lack of natural light and celling lights was nicely furnished with an extremely large, comfortable couch that doubles as a pull-out bed.

The patio we were assigned was shared with another room at the corner, compromising a bit of our privacy, so we opted not to use it. The other room also had a view into ours if the curtains were open. The beach is a couple blocks away across the street, so it was a bit of a hike for us. The cabins do have direct beach access though. Regardless, the ambiance of our suite, complete with a pool view, made up for these minor inconveniences.

This Hyatt in Incline Village boasts a great location. Whether it's a day out at the beach or a walk around town, everything is easily accessible. As for dining, we were pleased with the breakfast buffet's variety. Globalists have the option to order from the menu instead of the buffet, and both are free for up to four people.

For recreation, the property has an on-site casino and an outdoor fire pit. We were given a coupon at check in for a free s'mores kit as a welcome gift to use by the fire (something we took advantage of). We also enjoyed a welcome drink (champagne, wine, or a can of local beer) and a $5 voucher per person for the casino table games. To top it all off, we received a free $44 bottle of wine from the hotel store courtesy of a coupon for one free item from the gift shop given to us at check in.

The heated pool and hot tub were well maintained and a great way to unwind after a long day. We had access to both free self-parking and valet parking, which was a convenient addition. The gym, equipped with treadmills, stairmasters, Pelotons, and weights, was another highlight and well-appreciated by fitness enthusiasts like us.

Overall, our stay had its fair share of minor hitches, but the positives far outweighed the negatives. The suite upgrade, the location, the breakfast, and the gym were clear winners for us.

Would we stay again? Without a doubt! The Tahoe regency offered a unique experience that we'd love to revisit.
