This is the day you arrive to Entebbe international airport. You will be picked by your very happy and experienced driver/guide. You will transfer to the hotel. Depending on the arrival, there are other activities to be done in Entebbe town and near the Victoria Lake which is Africa's biggest fresh water lake. A boat tour will be done to visit one of the most amazing homes to the endangered Chimpanzee species. This is a sanctuary aimed at protecting these primates by giving them very good health and a beautiful home. Then transfer back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast in the hotel, you will then drive to southwestern Uganda to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. This is a home to almost 50% of the population of these giant mountain gorillas. On your way, you will a chance to stop ta the equator and see some cultural items like drums, clothing,hides and skins, sandals, hats from our local materials. Then afterwards drive further to the park. On arrival, you will check into the hotel. Have a time to visit a nearby village in the area, listen to some Ugandan music, see dances and you can actually join in on the dance. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.
This is the most awaited day. The day of Gorilla tracking. We shall have an early breakfast, and depending on the gorilla group, we shall transfer to the park headquarters, have a briefing with the ranger guides then embark on this Lifetime experience of Gorilla tracking in Uganda. In the afternoon, you have chances to relax in the lodge.
Morning cultural experience of the "Batwa trail". These are the pygmies and forest dwellers formerly in the Bwindi forest and are now living with other people in the society. They have a very intriguing way of life for example they make their own fire, make their own beer and their beliefs are interesting too. After this exciting encounter with the Batwa, you will then drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda's deepest fresh water lake. Here, you have chances of a boat ride with a guide on the lake, canoe or even have a swim. This lake was formed very many years ago when a river was blocked due to volcanicity and has up to 29 islands which have very enjoyable history like the punishment island where pregnant girls before marriage were taken and many others.
A morning village walk in the neighboring area to see "Africa's Switzerland" , ways of life of people in this area, cultural practices and food, economic activities, a wedding ceremony if this falls on the weekend. Later in the day, drive through Kabale and drive back to Kampala through Uganda's second biggest town centre.
This is the day when you visit Kampala city for a city tour visiting the biggest kingdom Buganda's parliament, palace and kings' tombs, Uganda museum, the only Bahai temple in Africa. Later in the day, drive to Entebbe for your return flight.

This gorilla tracking experience is a Lifetime one. You can never go wrong with it. It lasts for about 3-4 hours depending on where the giant primates spent the night. You will have a ranger guide who treks with you to reach them. On the way, are various species of birds upto 200 to be sighted on the way, reptiles, lots of herbs used by the animals in the forest, trees, streams, water falls, other species of primates like the chimpanzees, the red tailed monkeys, black and white colubus monkeys, blue monkeys, golden monkeys, duikers, forest elephants although very rare to find and a very beautiful, totally amazing landscape!
Activities in addition to gorilla tracking, you will have a chance to visit two villages in different places to see the difference between the various parts of the country. Uganda has up to 56 different languages spoken allover, so also the culture diversifies quite a lot.
You will drive through the capital city of Uganda; Kampala, then to Masaka, Mbarara, Kanungu and finally through Kabale and then back to Kampala.
On the last day, we shall have a visit to either the the national theatre or a cultural centre to see some Ugandan local dances and appreciate the drum sounds and music.
What to Know
This trip takes place in an area whose altitude is between 1400m to 2600m above sea level. It is at the border of the central rift valley in Uganda. This means that it can be cold in the night, therefore one needs warmer clothes.
For the tracking experience, you will need strong shoes that can do a good hike very well. In addition, some clients may need to come with a walking stick for support although all these sticks are provided locally at the headquarters.
Bwindi impenetrable forest national park is a tropical rain forest, therefore it can rain anytime of the day. A raincoat or rain jacket would be a must have.
An insect repellant is highly recommended as there quite a number of these in the forest. A long sleeved shirt is also needed during this walk.
Above all, do not forget your pair of binoculars and working camera so you can take memories with you back home.
No need to worry about your luggage, we shall take care of it in the forest.
About the Destination
Uganda is the pearl of Africa. It was given this name because of its astounding beauty from the happy people, to the diverse landscapes, vegetation, climate, water bodies, animals, cities, beaches and the wildlife.
It is a home to more that 56 ethnic groups with different languages although the official language is English and almost everyone here speaks it. All the children on the streets will say, "hello, how are you" and wave to you with such big beautiful smiles.
The population goes up to 35 million with only a tenth of then in the capital city and around. The rest are miles away and live mostly from their agricultural practices. Some of the plants are for export like flowers, bananas, rice, maize and so much more. The rest are then used for home consumption.
Uganda's altitude ranges from 940m to 5109m at the Margherita peak in the Rwenzori mountains.
Uganda is crossed by the equator. It has two major rainy seasons; the first one from March to May and the second one from September to November. These however, exceed the boundaries and it can rain anytime. The rainfall goes from 500mm to 2100mm per annum.
The temperatures of this beautiful country range normally from 10 deg Celcius to 30 deg celcius in some areas where it hardly rains in the north east.
The peoples of this country are happy, welcoming and this you will notice on arrival.

Your valid passport, visa on arrival can be purchased at the airport, a yellow fever vaccination, malaria prophilaxis.
