Day 1: Accra Arrival
Guests will be picked up upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport. Depending on your flight arrival, you will have the day free to explore the city of Accra.
Day 2: Aburi Botanical Gardens, Craft Market, Bead Factory, Volta River
Early morning you will depart for Aburi Botanical Gardens and Aburi craft market in the Akuapem highlands Along the way you will stop at a glass bead workshop near the Volta River to watch how beads are made. After an early lunch, you will head to Akosombo and tour the Akosombo dam by Speedboat. Guests will spend one night in Akosombo.
In the morning you will depart on a scenic drive to the seasonal Akaa Falls. There are 250 concrete steps to the bottom of the falls. From the falls you will depart to a number of villages showcasing traditional Asante handcrafts. Before nightfall you will visit a cocoa farm and stay overnight in Kumasi.
Morning visit to the National Cultural Center, one of Ghana's best museums. You will also visit the home of the Ashanti King, Manhyia Palace. After the palace, the Komfo Anokye Sword Shopping experience at West Africa's largest outdoor market, the vast Kejetia market. You will spend a second night in Kumasi.
Morning departure along the Slave Route, stopping at the Slave River in Assin Manso. Following with a tour of the oldest European structure in Africa, Elmina castle, a World Heritage site. Enjoy lunch and the late afternoon on the beach. Overnight at the beach resort.
Depart hotel for Kakum National Park. Enjoy West Africa's highest rain forest canopy walkway at Kakum. Explore Crocodile ponds and weaver bird community at Hans Botel before returning to Accra.
